Hope everyone has been having a great start to the new year! Here's a couple of designs for a short that I've been working on. I'm excited to be drawing skeletons; very expressive eyes. Well, eye sockets.
Just got back from CTN on Monday night and I can't tell you the amazing time I had. I volunteered to help out at the convention and, with this being my first time EVER to CTN, it was an incredible experience. I met so many artists and I look up to and/or now admire and I received a lot of great critiques on my work that help immensely. It'd take too long to explain how wonderful my time was at CTN but just know that if you are an artist that wants to be an artist for the rest of your life, spending $175 for a weekend in Burbank will be the best investment in your future that you won't get anywhere else. It was for me, and I got in free.
Hey guys, been SUPER busy with quite a few current projects that'll be out in the world soon and I'll be heading over to CTN Expo in Burbank, California this year. It'll be my first year going and I was even able to volunteer! I'm excited to see and get a chance to meet animators and artists that I've looked up to since I was a kid. I'll be showing my portfolio as well as pitching Black Widow with Kendall Robinson, another amazing artist and good friend of mine. Please check her out at http://www.delightfulpiffle.com/ ; she has an amazing imagination and an eye for the classics when it comes to stories and film. Anyway, just wanted to keep you all apraised on what I've been up to since I've been scarce on the net lately. If you haven't gotten a chance, please check out my tumble blog at http://evienchantress.tumblr.com/ to see daily, and at times weekly, sketches from me. Hope to get more Black Widow up for you all but until then, enjoy!
I just got back from an amazing adventure to Comic Con. I road the Starlight Train here on the coast and met my boyfriend Michael in Paso Robles. The two of us and his dad drove down to San Diego and stayed at a great hotel in Hacienda and spent 4 magical days in Nerdvana. It was awesome! I can't wait to go back next year (and maybe as a professional (9u9)). Did some doodles to commemorate the trip. I hope you're all having just as great of a summer!
I've been changing my look (hairstyle wise) for the summer and thought that Sally should get a new look as well. Sally's my computer and it's way too long of a story to tell you why she's named that (and why she is a she). I haven't drawn her in a long time and she deserves a new look.
Been working hard these past couple of months. Getting Black Widow and a couple of other projects off the ground floor and just started working professionally. I'm really excited for this film and I hope you'll all be just as excited to see it. It's been intense but even with all this work that I have to do, I'm having a blast. I guess the quote "if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life" is true. I can't wait to show more to you guys!
Sorry for keeping this short and to the point, I'm getting ready to do a story animatic for a Greek myth and am really enjoying designing the two main characters. It's been nice to go with a much more stylistic approach to the character designs.
I just started a Tumblr blog for day to day sketches and the like. I'll be probably be posting more doodles there, but all my character sketches, digital works, and the like will still be here for you guys to view. Please check out my Tumblr and I want to let you guys know that I really appreciate you all taking the time to view my work. It really does mean the world to me.
